Something not working, or a question about how Your Slate handles your data? Email yourslate.app@gmail.com and I'll get back to you.
Helpful things to include: your phone model, whether it's iPhone or Android, which part of the app (Sports, Movies & TV, Live Entertainment or Books), and what you expected to happen. A screenshot is worth a lot.
Open Your Slate, tap the gear icon at the top right of the home screen, and choose Export a backup. Save the file somewhere off your phone — email it to yourself, or put it in Drive or iCloud. To restore it on another phone, install Your Slate there, open the same Settings screen and choose Restore from a backup.
The backup file works across platforms, so a backup made on Android restores on an iPhone and the other way round.
That's expected. Awards and championship history aren't included in backups, because they're reference data rather than anything you created — they rebuild themselves automatically. The Oscars list in particular covers most of a century, so give it a few minutes with the app open.
No. Your Slate has no accounts and no sign-in. Everything you track is stored on your device and nowhere else, which is also why exporting matters if you're changing phones.
Usually a temporary problem with the upstream data source rather than your phone. Pull down to refresh, and if it persists for more than a day, please email me — that's genuinely useful to know about quickly.
Your Slate looks things up in public databases rather than maintaining its own catalogue, so occasionally a record is missing or filed oddly. Tell me what you searched for and I'll take a look.
Not at the moment. Drag-to-reorder was removed temporarily because the component it relied on stopped working with the current version of React Native. Any order you'd already set is preserved, and the feature will come back.
Deleting the app removes everything, since none of it is stored anywhere else. Export a backup first if you want to keep it.
Email is best. If the app is behaving strangely, exporting a backup before you delete or reinstall anything is a good idea — it means nothing is lost while the problem gets sorted out.
